VFX DELIVERY

Image Sequence Delivery Checklist

Treat frame count, handles, filename pattern, rate, and colorspace as one delivery record and check gaps before transfer.

SHORT ANSWER

The decision in one minute

An inclusive range contains last frame minus first frame plus one. Verify the agreed range and handles, then compare observed frame numbers, filename padding, rate, colorspace, and checksum or transfer record with the delivery specification.

Count inclusively

A 1001–1100 sequence has 100 frames. Handles extend the expected delivery range and must be stated separately from the cut range.

Check more than numbers

Frame numbers alone do not prove matching pixels. Confirm filename pattern, dimensions, colorspace, bit depth, alpha expectation, and transfer integrity.

A practical workflow

  1. Confirm cut and handle ranges.
  2. Calculate inclusive counts.
  3. Check observed ranges for gaps.
  4. Verify filenames and media specification.
