What this result means
Inspect browser-readable video duration, raster, aspect ratio, file size, type, and estimated average data rate without uploading the file. Results are intended for planning and convenience; confirm critical values in your editing, encoding, or delivery system.
Useful for
- Quickly checking a handoff before upload
- Confirming raster and duration without opening an editor
- Estimating the whole-file average data rate
Assumptions
- Average data rate is file size divided by duration and includes all tracks and container overhead.
- The browser-reported videoWidth and videoHeight represent decoded display dimensions.
- No file bytes are sent to this site or stored by it.
Limits & checks
- Browser codec/container support varies and unsupported files cannot be inspected.
- Codec, color space, HDR, audio track, and detailed stream tags are not exposed consistently by the HTML media API.
- For compliance or forensic work, verify with a dedicated probe such as MediaInfo or ffprobe.
FAQ
Before the final export
Is my video uploaded?
No. A temporary local object URL lets your browser read the selected file on this device.
Why is the MIME type blank?
The operating system or browser may not provide one for that file extension.
Is estimated bitrate the video stream bitrate?
No. It is the average for the complete file, including audio and container overhead.
